Were super excited. We'll probably wander into town... maybe get some ice cream and explore.

Mama! y mas escuela

I'm still really busy with school. The math school that I am going to is called the FAMAT which is attatched to the CIMAT, an entire building of math investigators, which is even harder to navigate than the Hogwarts castle (Hairy Potter reference). The school is known for being a REALLY good school, in fact one of the best math schools in Mexico. I'm not doing so well in this class that I'm taking, but according to the other students no one does, so despite my grade, from what I understand, I'm doing good... the other 3 students in my class, yeah theres only 4 of us, are all taking it for the 2nd time. Also, not only am I, I'm pretty sure, the only American in the school, but the only foreign girl too, and one of the few girls in general.


We also went and stayed at a nice hotel, called La Villa Maria Cristina, with a sauna, I like saunas. We got massages, and dessert, like this super fancy, and ever so tasty, cheese cake that lasted about 4 bites. Yeah that isn't just an incredibly huge plate... I know, but it was super sabroso (that's Spanish for super tasty).

Also during our outing we encountered some musicians chilling up by the presa playing some typical Mexican music.

Whole grains are an important part of a balanced diet for them too.
We offered some of our whole grain bread to a very skinny dog who was begging in the park, but after smelling it, he turned away and walked off... apparently beggars can be choosers. Who knew?

So one Sunday, while my mom was here, we bought a loaf of multi grain bread...

So my mom actually came to visit in February, but my computer had an incident involving the hard drive and all of the content in my computer... you know, no biggie. So I'm just now getting pictures up from when she was here... Better late than never right?
From the computer incident I did get to know some of the local computer nerds. In the second it took the guy in the computer lab to whip out his pocket knife to unscrew the four tiny screws that hold on the small plastic plate covering my hard drive, 5 other computer guys had already gathered around the table to watch. They were all really nice and helpful, and I learned some new things about computers, including computer-related words in Spanish.
